agreed. dots & loops is one of the best and it is a good place to start.
broadcast is pretty good, and i have haha sound and i like it, but they weren't a band i kept interested in whereas stereolab i did.

I have to say I'm much more partial to Broadcast, especially
The Noise Made By People Work and Non Work

if you just want to test the water with stereolab, get Serene Velocity. it's a compilation of different tracks from all of the albums mentioned above. And, surprisingly, for a compilation it plays through really well.

what horsefuckery said in the 2nd post about Stereolab plus Cobra - you can not underappreciate the Cobra album since J.McEntire did such an awesome job on that album
plus: Trish from Broadcast is the chic

broadcast without a doubt tender buttons. i thought work and nonwork was largely terrible, tho.
stereolab, dots and loops, then emperor tomato ketchup.
goddam, i hope he didn't already buy something different. pigster, tell us what you got.

Transient Random-Noise Bursts With Announcements is their best album. Their best pop song is Cybele's Reverie. Chemical Chords is surprisingly good.
