I liked it, cx, listened to it yesterday.

Particularly the sounds in the very beginning and the ending
climax where the beat comes in is nice too.

reply...

Right, I'm going to have a snickers.

Although I agree with Schoenberg that abstract music
shouldn't be defined as atonal. As discussed in the other
thread, abstract music is still subject to pitch or tone,
even if it's not in a particular key.

abstract to me just means that there is a fluid form, where
people are used to listening to beats, melody and harmony,
abstract music rather focuses on good textures and timbres,
and mood.
its a mix of noise and ambient maybe?

at least what im trying to do.

I was just about to have a wank when someone upstairs
started drilling. It really put me off, you just expect them
to comically fall through a hole in the ceiling and catch
you at the vinegar strokes.

I think Jivver wanted to know how it related to the
definition of the word though. I wanted to make sure he had
plenty of references to read over while he ate his
snickers.

Slip I'm about to have a wank listen up ....

Something is abstract when it is somehow removed from its
concrete, standard or common form; be it an idea, concept,
or a piece of art or music. Beats, melody & harmony can be
abstract, like Autechre or Otto, but the ambient-noise
glitch soundscape stuff you are doing is also abstract.

Trust me, what I ended up posting was a lot less lectury and
know-it-all than what I had at first :P When I was single
women rolled their eyes and walked away from me at bars a
lot.

I'll have to play you some of these noise jams me and my
bros were doing last night. Some of them turned out pretty
weird/good. I'll hop on MSN later tonight or something if
you think you'll be around.
