I miss the days when the site would go down for a day or so,
exciting if a little tense times. I was thinking of writing
an obiturary for Phobiazero on wikipedia.

freqy can now post pictures, this must mean he paid
phobiazero and he upped his account, ergo he is not dead

or freqy hacked the board of course

There is this smell of slow death around here. IDM seems to
be wilting and the scene isn't as exciting as times now
past. It's cos AFX did most of it a few years back and now
all we have is a strange void filled only with ae blip
skreeech muvik. I don't want XLT to give up, if it did all
faith in our music would slowly be lost. Phobs should sort
the torrents and ALL the xlt spammers should work together
to define something new. At the moment the spammers are
disorganised and mostly absorbed in there own sound, but i
recon the future lies within XLT spam. If this place
actually had some music going on then it wouldn't be dying
at all. We would then secure our unity through a movement
that makes us feel excited about this site again yeah!!

well, there's some funny people here, i guess that's
important

maybe we're decadant, dancing on the ruins of IDM
(idm just never was, with two good acts and one bassplayer
you don't build a genre)

IDM was an ideal and not nessecarily a false one. It's time
to make it into something else while taking the best of what
it was. And lets give it a name that dosn't sound like one
massive wank. Suggestions please.

make a production network . everyone d/l the
same vst instruments and or wav's being created.

a central producer who takes all these files
coming in from everywhere and selects the ones
which work together for the main central mix.

not to worry each song will could have multiple
remixes anyway. so all elements can get a hearing
eventually.

we don't all use the same package ( logic , Steinberg)
so we use an ftp thing of sorts where the files are
updated periodically.

available ftp folders for project files , wavs , a folder
of midi files .a folder for vst's and plugins a folder for
screen shots or even a private youtube or scype tingy
for explaining certain things on scren? stuff like that..

it would start slow but quickly build up pace ...might
find multiple remixes of each project all molding into
one in the end......thousands of elements available for
mixing together, making awesome multi dimentional
feels of musics that that are more than the sum of their
parts of a world xlt collaboration ?

Have you seen the amount of spam there is at watmm? It is
unreal. At least it is all confined to one area.

That place is much more organized, but the fish bowl
experience here can be fun too. They are like the big
civilized city and this is like the wild west :P

freqy: They've had vibes that were kinda like that. One
was an idea where one person would start a track, then the
next person would remix it, then the next person would remix
that and so on. There was a curator who organized and
oversaw it. We could so something like that again I
suppose.

why is the music being posted here called spam anyway? Is it
an XLT rule or something?

It seems that being absorbed in own sound is that bad of a
thing. I want my music to be something on its own before i
collab with anyone else.

bad*
