Turn You Inside Out

I wonder if this new one he's giving away for free would
have been part of the album Warp rejected? Not sure about
whether I like it much either way.

I can't find anything redeeming in his music. Good on Warp
for not putting the album out.

i can't download this at the moment but he just annoys me,
always so very well produced and clear and crisp and
completely fucking soulless

JIMMY EDGAR, Warp's multifaceted creative prodigy discovered
in the depths of Detroit's electronic scene, has released
his debut long player last February 2006.

lol, always amazes me the pretentiousness of some of these
"artists" who write their "about/bio" in 3rd person.

LOLPRODIGY

I think the next bit is best:

--'Color Strip' sees Jimmy's insane programming skills and
ultra-melodic synth touches as displayed in his previous two
Warp EPs taken to another level. Combining dark, sexy R&B
with his signature lascivious sound, he has created a
collection of razor sharp electro pop tunes made to grind
to. This is one sweaty, sultry LP.--

You should have seen the blog he wrote when the album was
rejected. Fair enough, he wanted to rant about it, but it
was in this bizarre third person mode that couldn't decide
if it was Jimmy, his manager, or even maybe an entity that
is beyond mere human-ness ? !

I bought "Color Strip". I just needle dropped through it in
5 mins. It's not very good. Probably why I never play it and
had forgotted the songs.

I really like Access Rhythm and to a lesser extent Bounce
Make Model(except a couple of tracks - uniform(citation) is
fab++ though)

His more recent stuff is rubbish, a bit like "Color Strip"
was, only worse. Well done to Warp for dumping him. I should
really like his 80's revival style, but it tends to almost
make me like it then I end up disliking it. As for the
"sexy" tracks... give it a rest... "I wanna be your STD" how
about STFU.

I wish he would stop being some sort of metrosexual tosser,
dig out his mpc and make good music like Access Rhythm. Oh
and no more cry baby rants.

personally i enjoyed 'turn you inside out' a lot.
but then again i like those kinds of synths and melodies, so
im a bit biased.

i've just heard 'Thought So' by Nightmares On Wax and it
seems to be enjoyable but easily forgettable like this Jimmy
Edgar stuff is.

this track however is a disaster.

people who still use these terrible RnB vocoder effects
should be locked up.

Color Strip is a superb album, I like this new track but
yeah that Dane Bowers vocoder does get on my nerves
