I've never been to this festival before, is it any good?

Line up includes

Leonard Cohen
DJ Krush
Roots Manuva

Trentmøller
Cornelius
Luke Vibert
Memory9
Daedelus
African Head Charge
Plaid
Flying Lotus
The Irresistible Force
Orchestra Baobab
John Shuttleworth
Benga
DJ Food & DK
The Unabombers
The Grid
Fujiya & Miyagi
Mr Scruff
Múm
TM Juke
Boomclick Soundsystem Unplugged
Tycho
etc.

I'm most excited about seeing Bill Bailey.

Not going this year but went in 2006 and it was pretty cool.
Very relaxed atmosphere, people of all ages around, pretty
much trouble free.

Lineup doesnt even look too bad to me, not great for an
Warp/Rephlex/Planet Mu fan, but then that's not what the
festival is meant to be all about anyway. Should still be a
good show.

the setting is great and in this weather it should be the
blast. the attitude there was pretty annoying, well smug,
"we're all such lovely people!" etc. line-up looks better
than when I went, corneliusssssss

the organisers rinse the lottery fund and arts council for
loads of cash, then network with whoever they can, invite
any acts to play for peanuts and keep all the money. ad
infinitum. for years. they never book anyone good and if
they do it's only for one year because anyone good realises
the coup. i wish arts council and lottery would realise and
stop funding this unmitigated pile of shite (imho). clueless
networking gets you a long way these days, all the people in
charge, all the real people can't face dealing with that
kinda shite so never get anywhere, it's a choice you gotta
make, a system you gotta try and beat, or avoid...

Cornelius! YES! God his band is so tight and in time with
the visuals it's unreal.

now.

i'm not a fan of the big chill. as horsefactory says, the
smugness is overbearing and the lineups are rarely anything
to write home about.

i do wish i could have seen global communication when they
played there a few years ago though (with the live
piano/orchestra i believe)

give me a dirty basement with sweaty walls and skanky girls
anyday.
