It's a game.

This isn't even a petition to "save the game" - the game is
going nowhere. This is a petition to have the artistic
direction moved more into line with what a particular band
of geeks want to see.

What a fucking waste of time.

look, i hate to be the devils advocate, but they are
completely correct.
the game looks terrible, like a wow clone, they really need
to make it way more grim and darker and an independent art
style.

it seems like instead of doing that they just took what they
had from wow and are going to remake diablo on it, like a
cash cow, rather than actually making a true sequel.

i also said this about sc2, its really hard to enjoy a game
that cartoonish.

The screenshots do lack a sense of dread. The environments
look glossy and not ''lived in''.

NERD RAGE

the gutter.

Come the fuck on, Starcraft 1 looked blocky and cartoony as
hell too. Never have the rose tinted glasses been worn more
than in this argument. Diablo 3 does NOT look like WoW, I've
played both for years and I can honestly say the art styles
are very different. We've also seen two fucking tiny
environments and some random screenshots, hardly an
indication of what the entire game will feel/look like.

I wish they'd throw some guitar music into the gameplay
demo, though.

im really in no position to talk about former games.
all i know is i reacted initially to the art style, im going
to play this game so for me personally i would want a more
realistic and grimmer look.

Every Blizzard game since the Warcraft III engine (on which
the WoW engine was built) has looked somewhat cartoonish.
But I liked the art direction in WoW and I like the slightly
different art direction in Diablo 3.

This petition won't persuade anyone at Blizz. They're going
to make the game how they see fit.

Still, whether or not you agree with someone's opinion of
the art direction does not give you license to call them
cunt/pathetic/nerd, etc.

If having an opinion one way or the other about something as
harmless as video game graphics makes me a cunt, then I
humbly offer you a fire which you may lie in while you fuck
yourselves.

"18532 Signatures Total"
!

I just signed, I totally agree that the art direction ,
though being very good , is not Diablo. I think what they
are doing now is great, but it looks more like some generic
Hero Game making slight references to Diablo PC, rather then
the franchise I spent a couple of hundred hours playing in
High School.

Yes, fan rage ruined Star Wars Prequels, and some other
things, but I think we can all agree that the Diablo 3 game
demos look like a Beefed up Gauntlet Legends with Havoc
Physics. I'm not asking that D3 be a Monster manual and a
twelve sided dice, but I really think that it should be
stripped down a little bit in the glam department.

Nope, I'm not signing this. I saw this posted on neogaf and
I think it's a load of b/s. People are claiming it looks
like WoW, and it looks nothing like it.

The graphics and art pieces that have been shown are
amazing, plus this trailer showcased prolly ~1% of the game
if that. Not too mention Diablo 3 is prolly 2 years off
from today. People are over-reacting, when I saw that
trailer in HD I was absolutely blown away.

Mother Ship unit in Starcraft 2.

Lol, changing a unit is a slightly different thing than
changing the complete art direction.

Just turn down the brightness on your screen if you feel so
strongly about this. Every other game released these days is
so dark you can't see anything. Apparently that's what the
fans want. Leave me alone, fans.

Of those 18K, I bet a huge junk will buy it even though they
dislike the art direction. And if someone is not going to
purchase Diablo 3 because of it's art-direction, well
flat-out - they're an idiot. Anyone that bitches about art
style (we're not even talking about actual graphics!) over
gameplay..... /facepalm

it's art-direction.....refer to my last post.

Zelda was ruined by fan whinging. I would have loved some
more games like the Wind Waker, but instead we got the
generic, lifeless mess of Zelda:TP, because the fans wanted
it.

Btw, I started a character on the USEast ladder. It's been
5 years since I've last played, so I have a MF sorc as my
main and a lowbie Paladin to play with others.

Anyone else on USEast ladder or thinking about reinstalling?
If you don't have Diablo 2 or lost your cds/keys, you can
buy a set of legit keys for $5, then all you do is register
them and digitally download the game from blizzard's shop.

anyone signing this petition is an idiot. I bet some of the
locations become more "goth" as you progress deeper into the
story.

but, really, I know I'd get tired of walking around in
hellish looking villages for the few 100 hours I might play
it. a little variety etc is only for the better.

anyone who says this looks like WoW is also instantly an
idiot.

Perhaps it's due to the fact that I've played WoW very
recently, but I can certainly notice the similarities in the
art direction and world models between the two games. I
think D3 looks awesome so far, I'm just saying I think the
people who say it doesn't look even remotely like WoW either
haven't played WoW, or are simply deluding themselves. The
similarities are definitely there.

I like the direction of the art in diablo3. The bright
colors act as a contrast to the horror that is happening. If
it looked like diablo2 then the same people would be arguing
that its not taking any risks or developing, that its
practically the same game. Nerdrage is fucking ridiculous at
times.
