depends. the whole vvvv concept is free but it is a modular
programing lanugage so you have to invest some time but you
can do great stuff with it. the forum is very quick and
helpful so you should achieve fast what you want to do.

besides that resolume which is the standard and you can
midify everything in it or arkaos. but those are not
freeware.
