Is really great. I feel very uplifted using this OS.
Once you get the hardware configured it's really good !!!!
I have all this free time that otherwise would be spent
fighting with my windows OS.

Luckly, since I am a born again tracker, I'm not so S.O.L
when it comes to sound applications. For the Cubase/pro
toolers out there, you may be in for a large learning curve.
Thought there is hope, I was at a friends house whom is very
well versed in linux Audio Production and he was doing
things I never seen with the store bought products. I have a
better understanding of JACK and it is really great. I can't
describe it, but if you can shadow a linux audio users for
an hour or so you will be very impressed.

Anyway, I'm so happy with the latest version of Ubuntu I
just had to start one of those about my threads xlt loves to
hate : )

Glad you like it. I agree that in comparison with windows
it's quiet and easier to handle. Linux doesn't mess around.
There's always dynabolic or other customized distributions
for audiowork. I myself am quite fond of the work by the
authors of alsa, jack, ladspa and others. A truly great
effort in opensource technology.
Ubuntu was created to try to make linux available for the
masses and yes debian is the underlying distro. If you know
how to you might consider using a linux distro of your
choice. Have fun.
