so we have a germany - turkey semifinal where I thought there would be a portugal croatia... nice now still halfway in the 1/4 finals we have netherlands - russia and tomorrow italy - spain wich are your bets? after I thought I would see a portugal netherlands final it will be funny to see a neverendingstory italy germany final |

I thought the turks did rather well. They have a lot of players suspended for the semis though so Germany are definitely favourites. I'm alone it seems but i think Spain have been better than Italy so far and could very well beat them. |

haven't seen Spain yet, but Italy are doing there usual slow start and coming good at the right time, looking forward to the game, could go either way, although Italy are always difficult to beat and who knows, Toni might have is striking boots on for this game. I watched Russia the other day and my god they can play football! When did that happen!? If only England could play like that, as a team! Holland will edge it though i think. haha poor Croatia, how do Turkey do it. |

Ha! maybe I do. I am after all Polish and quite often frustrated. Don't you dare think I ever get frustrated about football though. I'll be quietly rooting for Holland today, but I wouldn't mind if they get beaten by Russia, I like surprises. Actually, I would love Turkey to win the whole tournament, they got spirit and yesterday deserved to win as much as Croatia would have if they managed to. I have a special place in my heart for Turks. Also, I love to read and hear angry voices about Russia and Turkey being Asian states after every match won. This is what my previous post was actually about. |

I think it's awesome that Turkey has gotten this far. Theres a lot of turkish immigrants in Denmark, so if they win there will be hardcore partying. Realistically tho, i both root a little for Holland, and i think they also deserve to win the whole shabang. |

if portugal and netherlands would come to finals that would be a sad day for football. im really surprised how many people (who supposedly know about football) think of them as strong teams. imo their football is really boring. just scoring and technique is really boring to watch. spain has a much more compact team than netherlans and portugal so they have a slightly better chance against italy, though i doubt they will win. i still think italy and germany will meet in the finals (if they don't meet before)..and russia maybe has a chance. they really showed some nice team football yesterday. |

haha, i wasn't really thinking of it in a spiritual kind of way : ) dunno how to explain. italy, germany and france may have a lot of troubles as teams, they don't look fancy on the field at all, they may not have as many talents as holland, but when they need to pull their shit together they normally leave everything they have in them on the field. they can win games even when they're far from their best. holland on the other hand can win easily when they're not under pressure, but have lots of troubles when they confront a team with spirit in a decisive match. france was completly disorganised this time around (still my fav team though), but if dechamps takes over they'll be back to their normal on next world cup! |
