Feels like I just purchased a new plasma TV for the internet.
It looks pretty nice, they didn't do anything too drastic. It feels faster, although that could just be an illusion.
Firefox has a nice range of add-ons by now, making it my favourite browser. The only thing Opera has over Firefox is the download function, but even that part is better here in Fox 3.0.
Who needs IE, really?

i've been using the betas and yeah, they're a huge improvement on FF2.
Apparently there was absolutely no difference between the last release candidate and the final release, even the checksums of the files were the same.

ff3 really is quite wonderful. i've been using the betas and release candidates and now that the final release is out it'll be great to see more widespread support from third party extensions.

It's workin nice, so far. Got the draggin and the poppin, even dropin-down new addresses, I am still still getting used those. One complaint, scrolling seems to take up a bit more memory, up-down keys can be very slow at times. (just me) Also, where is my Foxkeh theme? I've been looking all over for it, I want to see that boy run!
'Only add-on I have is Adblocker Plus. What are some good ones?

"Faster ff3" IS an illusion. I had problems with it (not only with speed) so i went back to ff2 and i can honestly say ff2 is much faster and causes no problems at all, like ff3 does.

I believe ff3 seems to be faster because the rendering engine manages to get most of the page layed out quickly before loading the content, like images and text.
I've been using it since a few betas ago and it's quite nice.
I have recently tried opera and it was rubbish. The open in new tab default is for it to switch to the new tab. so annoying. I don't care if it's easy to turn off (is it?) as a default feature it's beyond annoying.
Everyone who thinks that opera/safari is mega fast has never used elinks.
text based, but unless you're youtubing it, for most stuff it's fine oh and very very fast.
ff3 will be great as soon as all in one gestures gets upgraded. im lost without it!

I expect it to open a new tab and (here's the important part) keep the current tab open.
What it does it opens a new tab (ok) but then moves the focus to the new tab (bad).
I can no longer rack up dozens of tabs from a single page because I end up wanting to launch the laptop across the room.
in conclusion: firefox is the best because it is the least annoying and in this modern world that is a valuable attribute.

all-in-one gestures updated to work with ff3.
For your tab concerns, tabbrowser preferences is probably the best plugin, although it isn't “compatible” with ff3 yet. However, that's easy to fix, as you just have to unzip the xpi-file and edit something in the installation where it says what versions of firefox it is compatible with. Some instructions. Not all extensions respond well to this procedure, but then you just uninstall it.

You mean to open a link in a background tab? Because if that's not it I don't know what it is since FF does the exact same thing when I open a new tab. If you want to have a look at how tabs work on Opera, go to preferences, advanced, tabs, there's a ton of options there.
I'm not sure not what the default config looks like 'cause I've been using my Opera config since Opera 5.

yes, background tab. I would NEVER have noticed that. ok well that's my fault. my wizzy thinkpad browser back/forward keys don't work with it though :( ive set up the linux keymap so its opera being picky.
i still won't switch to opera. I just can't be arsed. I'm sure it's good but until it gets this im not doing it:

just hit enter. when you enter a non-www....com address into the address bar, it just goes to the first hit on google, which most often is what you're looking for.
it's also great because then you can just type things like "youtube rick roll" and it sends you right there.
(btw to get to the message board and not the front page you can just type "xltronic mb.")
