Danish rap music

Rap is massive in Denmark. I think the language is quite
suitable to this format, but i was wondering how it sounds
to someone who can't understand the language, so i'm
dropping a few classics here, if anyone should be
interested.

MC Clemens

This is one of the tracks that really started it all (as the
video shows, the budget wasnt big for this kind of thing in
98). The lyrics are actually partially about how rap is
getting bigger and bigger.

L.O.C

This is a very new album, from a big danish rapper. Very
well recieved.

Malk de koijn

A bit more artsy, these ones. Very odd production, and
absolutely warped and hilarious lyrics, that unfortunately
probably can't understand.

Tell me what you think.

if i would eat up a spoon full of pepper i could rap danish
too.

in my opinion this sounds awful. like german as a language
for rap much better.

the language sounds alright for rap, I guess. not quite as
ridiculous as german to these ears.

its tupsy turvy with you dirtypriest, the only worthy hiphop
from denmark is malk de koijn, nobody beats the beats (the
collective), context and if you really push it, mc einar.

I actually agree to a large extent with that. I've just been
really curious, how it sounds in someone elses ears. I'm
definately not saying L.O.C is a genius :D

Still, i personally just think that the language in itself
has a quality to it, but i also find it interesting that
sadist for example doesnt like it, and frankly not that
surprising. I think it's superious to swedish rap for
example... It sounds to "nice".

i dont think foreign people would enjoy the actual rapping
on either of the before mentioned artists, however the beats
delivered by Tue Track in malk de koin, nbtb and track72,
fucking mad.

Did you hear Booty Cologne? It's also Tue Track. It's pretty
fucking good actually.
