 | Having just watched it on the DVD, I thought it was a very, very solid one. it feels much more complete not getting
interrupted every 20 minutes and they made an amazing job
putting It together, well for some soapopera reason of
mine i sometimes even missed the sweet ass clifhangers. No,,
the only thing bugging me was the inbalacne between cgi
scenes, the amazinlgy drawn scenes, and the not so amazinlgy
drawn ones but The 5th Angels expressions made up for it and
put a dropping jaw back on.
I did not know at all what to expect watching it, but
"just" putting it together scene by scene feels like the
only right thing to do with a
-If it ain’t broke, why fix it? as long as you milk, milk
 milk, milk, milk
 and it taste like mom

 | So wait, is this the "new" series you're talking about here? I remember reading a ways back they were going to redo the
 whole series.

 | Evangelion was actually one of the only anime shows I enjoyed. The characters are brilliant. Brilliant that is
UNTIL the last few episodes, which were the biggest load of
philosophical bullshit I have ever seen in my life. It
 totally ruined it for me.

 I'll check out the redux.

 | I loved the ending. Evangelion would just be an average mecha anime without that brilliant ending.

I'm hoping for a more coherent storyline as well. I saw the
first one in very low quality but it looked very promising.
I'm very curious about the last bits.

 | Are there any differences between the original series and this new one? Supposedly Hideaki Anno wanted to correct some
things he wasn't satisfied with in the series. If so, what
has changed? How much material of the series does it cover?

And where did you get a copy?

 Thanks. :D

 | This is a retelling of the story & cover the first 7 episodes of the series, (think of it like a sucessful remake
of starwars). There´s a bit more depth and explaniation
about the caracters,NERV,SEELE and the angels. Some
complete new scenes and a wonderful sound.

There is a dvdrip on demonoid btw..

 | I also got that feeling from the first few episodes that I saw.. the girl in yellow gives off some kind of "idol
 promotion" feel or something...

I thought this new-fangled Neon Genesis stuff was just more
remake stuff? Is it really worth watching?

DM, is this message really to me? I'm sorry, but I'm not
sure what you mean. It's getting late here, perhaps I'm too
tired to understand it for now. :D

In any case, enjoy these two tunes by Kajetokun.

 | Haha, I was somehow replying to that they fight with sound, and how it seemed to me it was just a promo show for some
new Japanese idol, but, yeah.. I don't really know how that
is a reply. Something must be missing.

So they do fight with sound, then? Eh ... how? :D

All I can think of is that they scream at each other. Or
 clap hands really, really loud.

 "Aaargh, my eyes ...!"

Here, I made my own theme-song for RahXephon.

 Fight with sound,
 all your base
 are belong to us

 fighting sound,
 bad robot,
 are belong to us

 Japanese idol,
 figthing hard,
 so so lovely

 Let's fighting love!

 *End*

(allright, I'll admit, that was bad, but what the heck ...!)

 | Hahah, yeah, it's something like that... at least the fight thingie that I saw was a huge thing that was screaming and
 all the windows blew out.

However, I think the singing part goes "deeper" somehow, but
not in the philosophical sense.. more in the sense that the
thingies are somehow controlled by singing "arias" or
 something.

 From the wiki:

"The overarching theme of RahXephon is one of music
changing the world. The Dolems are animated by a
quasi-mystical force that is connected to music; most of the
controlling Mulians appear to be singing. A Dolem attacks
while singing, and sometimes the attack is the song itself.
The RahXephon can also attack by having its pilot — the
"instrumentalist" — sing a note. This unleashes powerful
forces (such as light-energy blasts or heat waves) that
cause destruction on an apocalyptic scale. Each of the
Mulian Dolems has an Italian name which references musical
notation, such as Allegretto, Falsetto, or Vivace. The
ultimate goal of the RahXephon is to "tune the world."
Izubuchi says the name RahXephon lacked a real meaning, but
that he now explains it as composed of Rah, which according
to Churchward is the origin of Ra, X for the X factor (the
unknown), and -ephon as a suffix for instrument
 (-phone).[2]"
