How do you post links that don't open a new browser window?

Autechre > Debussy > Beethoven > Vivaldi > Bach

Music clearly gets better as time progresses

Hell no, classical and romantic music are so much more
boring than baroque. Thankfully Stravinsky and Schoenberg
came along and music became cool again.

Putting Autechre above Bach is a bit ridiculous.

Putting fucking VIVALDI above bach is just.. i don't see how
you could do that

Oh dear! This is one of those comments that will make you
cringe in a few years time.

I bought a "Jazz Sebastien Bach" LP the other week. I'm yet
to listen to it properly, but it has a french jazz vocal
group doing Bach covers. It's purely sampler fodder you see.
anyway...
Partita 2 is lovely but I don't know if it's the best.
I don't care if it's what everyone says, but Toccata and
Fugue in d minor is great and probably my favourite.
Apparently Bach used it to test if an organ had good lungs
because it exercised the instrument well. But then again
apparently it wasn't done by him and was for violin
anyway...

All I know is that it has this sort of raw energy, which
other works don't have.
He did so much music I think it's very hard to pick one
favourite. The clavier ubung III sticks in my mind as a good
setI'm not really any sort of expert.

Here's a great youtube with some "vocals" too
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qB76jxBq_gQ

Has anyone seen "21st Century Bach?" I think you'd probably
enjoy it.

Indeed - I noticed after I'd already posted about Ae->Bach
but I didn't want to double-post.

Yeah some of Bach's stuff is great, but I just find it too
samey (i know that's really bad to say, and it isn't really,
but I just find it is). I'd much rather listen to any of the
stuff mentioned in my earlier post.

Things normally sound samey to people who don't understand
something. "That techno, it's all the same" "That rock
music, it's all the same" "Those niggers, they all the same"
etc.

If something's samey, challenge yourself to differentiate
