I finished this one last night and it was quite a book I have to say. Thanks to whoever it was on this board that recommended it.
I thought for such an abstract and non-linear novel, the ending was pretty cut and dry, unless I missed something, which is highly likely.
The main question I had was about the evidence of some monster lurking through the Ash Tree Lane house, Zampano's house, and Johnny's house, and I figured he would pop up at the end. No such luck though; anyone have any thoughts on that?
I got to thinking, essentially HOL is a book within a book, and it could even be a movie within a movie. If they could recreate the expeditions and the home videos they speak of, I think they could pull it off.
As an aside, I read today that Danielewski's sister is the singer Poe, and her album Haunted is a companion album to go with HOL. I found that pretty damn cool.
That's enough random House of Leaves thoughts for now. I'd love to hear if anyone has any insight on some of the stuff I may have missed.
