so i went to maker faire today, which is a fair sponsored by the ultimately awesome magazine make.
this was the ultimate dream for all children, physically and mentally.
it was just acres of art, crafts, technology... so fucking fun! i was like a kid in a candy store.
a few of the high lights: lots of burning man art which means fire and steampunk galore, tesla coils, a jeep covered in lego boards so you could build on it, tables upon tables of weird audio toys and interfaces, an amazing lego zoetrope, both a bus and numerous muffins drive by bicycle, and my favorite, an 18 foot tall walking mechanical giraffe who blasted rave music and spoke to you when you petted him on his head. and that doesnt even begin to describe how much more stuff there was.
as an insanely geeky plus, i met xeni jardin of boingboing and bbtv.
this was probably the most fun i've had since last coachella, and made me soooo incredibly stoked for burning man.

maker faire only requires you be young of heart.
it really is just like a huge adult playground.
