Walked into HMV today and they had a massive WARP section
on show... managed to pick up a FREE Warp 2008 Sampler. Went
to the "Dance" section and found they had restocked their 1x
Quaristice + 1x Untilted (if you're lucky) Autechre section
to 5x Quaristice + 1x their entire back catalogue. WTF? At
least I managed to get Chiastic Slide, been trying to get
this for ages.

the shitty chain book/music store here has not 1 but 2
copies of quaristice. blew my mind. thats about as extensive
as the "dance" section has ever been there

The Starbucks next to my work was playing BoC the other day.
I heard a familiar shuffle as I was walking by and stopped
to listen for a sec and identified it from Geogaddi. I am
pretty sure it was Music is Math. I went inside to ask but
they didn't know what I was talking about.

of course don't forget about adult swim on cartoon network.
almost all of the music they play inbetween shows during
commericial bumps is off warp. they play the hell out of
hello everything on there.

Warp have been pretty respected overall, really. As far as
quirky electronic labels go, they've always had a decent
spot in stores/press.

Hmm I guess. Mind I can't see why Battles are that big to be
honest, their sound is totally bent out of all proportion.
not that that's a bad thing either.

battles are really good but i dunno if i like them better
than when ian was in don cabellero. what burns never
returns will always have a special place. II also but that
was before that lineup i think. american don was pretty
good but not quite as (even w steve albini producing,
recording or whatever he did)

Yeah, I went in to HMV the other day and in the APTLY NAMED
"Dance" section, there was a lot of old Warp stuff. Some guy
came up to me and said "I see you're taking advantage of the
Warp promotion" as I had about 5 or 6 CDs in hand, and he
talked about LFO and Red Snapper. Joys.

But there was no B12. =(

I was seriously expecting this thread to have been bumped
from 15 years ago, but in a a way, a 12 year old boy having
made it sort of makes it true. Except it doesn't, but kind
of, in a way.

the answer is they're not, HMV has a sale on.HMV
occasionally has sale showcases on labels, and has done warp
many times before.

Ok.

Quite funny cos I think it's in direct competition with an
indie store (Rise in Cheltenham?) pretty much next door to
them. They've got a LOT of very cheap Warp stuff, still
waiting for them to restock on VSnares though.

I went into an HMV today. It was a living museum, Frontier
Village or something. All toothless gold prospectors and
edison cylinders. Jesus. This is the future, people. We eat
pills, wear silver jumpsuits and download music BAM into our
brains.

i read a Jamie Lidell interview in a station paper, he's
being treated like a mainstream popstar and that's how he
acts :/

fun fact though: i un-fanned a classmate of mine by letting
him hear Muddlin' Gear :D
