how did venetian snares make huge chrome cylinder box
unfolding?
how did he make those synth sounds, how did he make the
samples, the ones that aren't sourced from tv for instance
(which is most of them)?

related: how did he learn to produce (mix/master) so well?
because it sounds like sex to me

A LOT of those sounds are circuit bent stuff sampled to
death if you didn't know that already. There's also a lot of
FM stuff going on. So, go out and buy a Speak & Spell and a
DX7.

First: he is a talented god.

I heard his mom was in a punk band and music was always the
main thing the familiy. He also started playing when he was
very young.

Commodore Amiga running OctaMED

Renoise is more or less a continuation of OctaMED.

Not SURE it's a DX7, but a DX7 could probably easily
recreate many of the FM sounds on the album.

A lot of the drum sounds are circuit bent samples screwed
around with.

believe it or not, aaron is a huge hardware freak, and a lot
of what you hear is hardware synth. hccbu is a very unique
sounding snares album, really good.

because of the tracker i had a mental picture of him just
using a computer

so how does he mix, are the channels of the tracker fed to a
mixing board or something?

Well he is a die-hard Renoise user. You can use that to
sequence everything or anything just about with it so i just
wonder what his means of recording is...hardware vs.
software... he could just record what he needs from a
hardware device and fuck the audio up inside renoise...if he
mixes & masters anything at all (although mike p posted some
pics on planet-mu.com of the studio they use to master their
stuff)

I've gotta look for those pictures... they're in a folder
somewhere along with those two warp mixes he did that i
really want to listen to again.
