fyi if you have the ram to deal with it, azureus is prolly the best torrent client out there. if your compy is less than stellar i recommend utorrent (spelled with a mu, the greek letter, but im too lazy to find out how to type it) for a windows box and transmission if youre on a mac. |

well you have to make sure the torrents you are downloading are well seeded (have people uploading). if you were trying to get them from the xlt tracker youre shit out of luck cuz people here couldnt give a fuck about seeding. and i can see you glasse, mr. 69.242.96.205 :D |

yea dude i am digging this. i have been all about mixes lately and teched out jams. how much prep/sit down work do you do compared to real time /live? i am getting into mixing myself just curious what other peoples workflows are like. |

i have a tascam us422 that can kinda be a controller and my waldorf q but i am not lugging that around. i have been considering getting a small controller maybe one that also has an audio interface. |

i beatmatch all the tracks before hand and set up cues, as well as preparing some mashups by getting tracks in cue with each other. everything else (the actual track selection, mixing, effects, filters etc.) is all done live other than some very minimal tweaks and fixing mistakes here and there done in post. i can give a more detailed description of my set-up if youd like. i've actually been thinking about writing a blog post about it, so if you ask it'll be my inspiration. |

yea if you write it i will read it i am interested in this. i want to try and get resident somewhere maybe although there isnt much around here. right now i am penciling it mostly i want to get more into real time performance though. ive layed down some RT tracks but not a full start to finish set. |

cool, well i'll prolly start on that in a week or less, depending on how well seeded my mix gets (i'll need to take screeshots in ableton and to do that i have to boot into windows and shut down the torrent client because the ableton crack is sooooo much more reliable than the one for os x) |
