everyone seems obsessed with the fact that this new album is
recorded using their live set-up and taking ideas from jam
sessions... or maybe it's all the two lads are arsed to talk
about?

seriously though, this is like the 4th interview that's been
pretty much the same

It's the interviewer that drives them that way i think.
Booth & Brown could start talking about all kinds of weird
shit, but not many readers would understand it. I think I
just about got that gate array thing.

been using them since the 80's

FPGAs. Lol. Are they trying to get into aphex BS territory
here?

All you can do with FPGAs is combinational/sequential logic
circuits and basic DSP functionality.
He should look into FPAAs (field programmable analogue
arrays). These things are much more suited to be the
building blocks of synths, since they contain
transconductance amps, like any good analogue VCO,VTF,etc.

I honestly cannot understand why he would want to make
something which you can already do by using a big chunky DSP
processor (hello TC electronic powercore and quad core PC
CPU) and some software (hello reactor, max/msp, et al)

Frank Zappa used to splice live music and studio stuff all
the time and I tell you what, I'd much rather listen to him
than this pair of jokers.

hehe I looked them up on Wikipedia and went "ooooh
thooooooose!"

my lack of terminology while knowing what those are applies
deeply in electronics :P

Does a gateway array make your dick bigger and irresistable
to big breasted virgins?

Autechre seems to get their sound from heavy use of short
staccato delayed percussion sounds. Its delay all over the
fucking place with those boys
