is there a way i can force the audio input to be mono?

basically i have this shitty splitter cable, and untill i
get a new / better one when ever i plug two things into it
it sends both to the left for some reason

i have 2 gameboys and i untill i really get my set up all
together i just want to be able to hear them both through
both speakers

i know this shouldve been posted like 7 years ago i'm sorry
