once i asked for a black russian and the hotel manager served me captain morgans, bacardi and diet coke! fucking vile and felt rougher than a rusty cock the day after. i accepted as it was a) cheap, b) i'd already blagged 2 free pints from her and c)she was pissed. true story.

if i drink dark rum all night i will almost certainly be sick in the morning.
that being said captain morgans private stock is outstanding
light rum i can usually keep drinking and be as ok if i had been drinking gin or vodka. lately i have been drinking light cherry rum, bourbon and soda or sparkling water.

a black russian should really just be kahlua and vodka right?
i don't think any of those ingredients should have been in there.

pink russians are good to get your girl. It is like a white russian except they put raspberry chambord instead of kahlua.

for the americans here (or those vaguely interested in rum/american history) there's a book called "and a bottle of rum" which tells american history through cocktails. very entertaining. chapters titled "kill devil" "cuba libre" "mojito" etc.
