Have you tried downloading Miranda P4ck? It's pre-configured
for ICQ.

tried it just there, same shit.

all contacts appear as offline, but i can send and receive
messages to and from them

It's probably some setting that you have to turn ON as stuff
on Miranda isn't properly set from the get go, if everything
else fails there's always Trillian (free version). I only
use Miranda for MSN and AIM, never had a problem after I
configured everything myself, it took an entire day and
there's still stuff left to tweak specially the AIM
protocol.
