i have a mac and need some djing software for tomorrow night. are there any programs that will recognise and allow me to use my ipod.
any recommendations?

traktor (newest) will recognize it, and so will serato scratch from what i understand, but you need the rane box for that to work.
how much will you actively be mixing? cause if it's just fades you could have your itunes set to a reasonable amount of crossfade and just bang tunes into a playlist

i think itunes may be the best suggestion (as a temporary thing) because i don't really have time to learn anything else.
i just want to use the laptop as a third deck. not much mixing as such. fuck it, i may just take my ipod again.
will look into traktor for the next gig tho. i thank you sir.

yes it's heavy but you can sit on it and it sounds best and is fun

yes. Vinyl wins in every aspect apart from convenience. I hate carting boxes of records everywhere. I'm also sick of playing at venues with shitty decks. They can destroy my vinyl AND ruin a set. I still love records though and plan to always use some if i can.
