would you pay to remix radiohead?

now you can:

--------
Radiohead, iTunes and GarageBand are giving you the
opportunity to remix the band's new single "Nude".

To make remixing easy, the separate 'stems' from the song
are available to purchase from iTunes. The 'stems'
available are bass, voice, guitar, strings/fx and drums. You
can mix them in any way you like, either by adding your own
beats and instrumentation, or just remixing the original
parts.

If you purchase all five 'stems' from iTunes during the
first week they're available, you'll be sent an access code
to a GarageBand file ready to open in GarageBand or Logic.
However, you don't need GarageBand to do a remix, all the
stems are in iTunes Plus format and compatible with several
music software platforms. The GarageBand file will be
emailed out on April 11th.
--------

that's right, you have to buy each part of the track
separately.

a remix contest where you have to pay to enter. fuck that.

I'd rather pay to tell radiohead to fuck off, in person.

It only takes one person to record each part to wav (of aiff
as apple would call it)
If you can hear something, you can record it. If you can
record it, you can share it. So remix radiohead for er, free
perhaps?

It is exactly the same thing as that Moby "Go" contest from
a while back. Nothing new here.

yeah, but the whole idea of not giving them out free in the
first place is pretty crap.

Apparently they made a correlation between "artists" and not
having money, so the shitheads who didn't nibble their ass
as much as the big bad businessmen that bought in rainbows
and donated a private island can get ripped off too. Fuck
you radiohead.

Here's an interesting question. With all this complaining in
this thread, did any of you actually buy the album?

few of their concerts...

personally.

i didn't pay for it even though it's a great album. this
remix contest is fucking decrepit though, especially the
terms.

without a certificat? i hear that thom is quite an
administration freak

I don't want to enter a competition, even if there is one.
It looks just as though Radiohead rate the best one, but
don't actually do anything with it.

i'm pretty sure you don't have to pay to enter. just be a
smart person and download them elsewhere (i've got them if
you want them).
i dunno if i'll enter though. there doesn't seem to be a
prize other than having lots of votes. and it's silly cos
people can already send in remixes and get votes. so anyone
actually spends time on their remix won't have a chance of
standing out among the thousands of remixes, majority of
which will already drown out any new remixes as they've
already got da votes.
silly silly silly
