he's the moustache guy from a new hope.
majority his scenes were cut from the film (including the
scenes explaining who he was and all that). once he is
introduced (somewhere at the end of the film) he's killed
off.

despite all this, the actor is still a regular at star wars
conventions xD

lets show some respect!

Biggs features more extensively in the Star Wars radio play,
specifically before Luke Skywalker meets Old Ben Kenobi.

yeah, but surely his moustache is the key feature to this
character. i'm not too sure how they'd portray such a
COOL/HIP character with audio only.
biggs aside.. how is the radio play? :P

I felt a bit ashamed when I saw this thread and knew what
was going on.

P.S..... Wedge Antilles

I remember him featuring a bit more in the comic books at
the time. He is a pivotal character in the story along with
R5D4 and Bossk.

haha. amazing considering the fact bossk wasn't even in the
original star wars!

every now and then i'll get bored and read on the star wars
extended universe. they're got everything covered. it's
really quite sad.
what's really lame is that according to these EU stories,
some time after return of the jedi, that palpatine dude was
cloned and brought back to life as a bad guy again. way to
make the ending of the star wars movies anticlimatic.
i mean, asif having ewoks succesfully battle stormtroopers
and such wasn't bad enough.

/geek rant

"amazing considering the fact bossk wasn't even in the
original star wars!"

That's not entirely true. His wasn't a speaking role, but he
was featured in The Empire Strikes Back in the
infamous bounty-hunters scene.

yeah yeah. by original star wars i mean episode 4 :)
i think he grunts in empire strikes back, if that counts as
speaking, but i can't remember.

/geek sentence or two

I DLed some of the Audiobooks (actually about 6 discs of
mp3s!) and I listened to the one where Palpatine clones
himself -- it was rubbish and, you're right, makes the end
of Return of the Jedi meaningless.

I read some of the books, but I stick to stories featuring
the original characters (Han Solo Trilogy, The Adventures of
Lando Calrissian, Dark Lord Rising).

oh man. the adventures of lando sound brutal :D
my cousin gave me some x-wing novels but i never read them.
as i mentioned, i like to read about that stuff on wiki or
wookiepedia, but i don't think i'll ever get around to
actually reading/listening/watching any of the extended
universe stuff. it's just one step too far i think.

that said, i think star wars fans have a better image and
idea of what makes star wars special. opposed to lucas that
is.
i've probably mentioned this somewhere in a previous thread,
but that's why i'm half looking forward to the live action
tv series. the fact that lucas is handing it over to people
who will (hopefully) know what the fans want.

bla bla bla :)

Yeah, you're not really missing that much by not reading
them -- I dono why I read them, I'm not a huge Star Wars
fan. The Adventures of Lando Calrissian were written back in
the mid 80s by someone who namechecks Robert Anton Wilson no
less!. The Han Solo Adventures are from the late 70s
and The Han Solo Trilogy is from '97 - overall they're OK
but not very swashbuckling :\
