Jean Michel Jarre - Oxygene tour

Just returned home from watching Jean Michel Jarre perform.
In his tour, he's performing Oxygene, live with the old
analoque instruments (with 3 helpers).

It's nothing like the mega concerts he used to play, much
more intimate. It's a good oppertunity to revive classic
album, and listen to some rare synths played live. I'd
reccomend it, if he gets around your area.

A bit yeah, but it really shined live i think.

Nah, no dancing. I leave that to the professionals.

Hmmmm, sounds interesting, although I loathe all
post-Equinox Jean Michele Jarre. If Tangerine Dream would go
on a tour with their old analogue equipment I would have
loved to go see them. I saw Kraftwerk a couple of years ago
and that was truly awesome. But Jarre? He's like electronic
music for people who claim to be into classical music just
because they have a budget copy of Vivaldi's The Four
Seasons on their cd shelf.

I saw him at the Royal Albert Hall on the 30th, and I must
say it's been the best gig I've been to in over 20 gigs
including 3 JMJ gigs (not bad considering i've only been on
this planet for almost 16 years).

The gig reminded me a LOT of Tangerine Dream, especially the
new "Variations". Sequencers running while Jarre
improvises.

The 50+ synths were awesome to see.

The audience were a little cold, Oxygene 4 got the biggest
applause (even though it's SHIT in comparison to the other
Oxygene parts).

Still, I'd bloody love to see Equinoxe performed live with
the B-Side (i.e. parts 5, 6 & 7) extended into one massive
hour long proto-minimal freakout impro.
