I'm trying to discover artists that have that Squarepusher
sound. Not the electronic drill n bass stuff, I'm talking
about the jazz material (Rotted, Mindphone, some Feed Me and
Daddy).

Any suggestions?

I already know Davis and Pastorius. 'On the corner' is
pretty close to the sound I'm looking for.

Aphex didn't release anything close to jazz, did he?

Any tracks from your other suggestions I should check out
specifically? Thanks.

I've got pretty much all Primus albums, but apart from the
bass playing virtuosity, there not that similar in terms of
sound imo.

Wow, never heard of Clifford Gilberto before, great stuff.

That's probably as close to what I was looking for as I'm
gonna get. You know if there's anything more recent than 'I
Was Young And I Needed The Money'?

What you need is some jazz-fusion.

Give this one a listen:

jean luc ponty live violin master jazz fusion

Perhaps you're interested in stuff like Mahavishnu
Orchestra., in any case I believe it's the jazz-fusion genre
you're looking for.

Rook

You wouldn't happen to know from which album the tune "jean
luc ponty live violin master jazz fusion" (link above) is
from?

I suppose it's not its original name.

I found the "Cosmic Messenger", today. What other album
would you recommend? Be well!
