The "h" knob from the 16 piece(a...p) knob range is broken.
It just dousnt respond anymore. I opened the drumcomputer
but couldnt find anything. Dous anyone know how you can fix
such kinda problems?

Or how you can operate the grid recording with just a midi
keyboard? Is that possible because my midi-keyboard still
only works with recording notes stepwise not in gridform
where you loop drumsequences

yamah rm1x

did you clean pressure spot under the button? Does the
button still 'click' or give you the feeling that you press
it? You might be able to order separate parts for the
equipment from Yamaha to fix it yourself. Did you also mail
the Yamaha tech support?

Yeah it still makes contact and feels just like the other
keys. But i will mail them see if they have some fixing
tips.

when my 909 had the same problem (i think it was step 11
that wasn't responding) i had to have the switch completely
replaced.

was difficult to do, because i had to get entire new
switches (of which i could only find ones that had blue
LEDS, and i wanted to keep my red ones) so the synth repair
guy had to do a bit of jimmy-hocking and hacked away at the
switches to make a hybrid.

worked like a charm, but was a hassle. and cost me a bit to
get fixed.

of course we're talking about old gear there.

if you do need a new switch for that step button, i'm sure
it'd be a bit easier for you to get it done since it's a
relatively modern piece of gear

problems with this king of gear are really bad. its strongly
sensitive for any damages. The good part is that it isn`t
that old and you can order parts via ebay or so or even find
them in local music stores. My KORG EM1 is still waiting for
its Effect preset sellect knob to be repleaced.
