It's okay as a general glitch beat. It's pointless and
neither here 'nor there. It's a souless copy.

My speakers were not prepared for this.

I like that hollow sounding echoey drone though.

I like version 1.
The low drone thing is cool.
Forget melody, that's for fags.
I would like to put this track in Wipeout HD, when it comes
out on PS3 : )

Its missing something to be of the same quality as something
like the first handful of tracks on 8000 bc. I guess it has
too much symmetry.. then again some tracks on marion have a
lot of simplistic symmetry but are still top notch. I guess
the same sound samples are used too much, not enough
microscopic wizardry/effects/etc.
Speaking of which, telefon tel aviv made some of the best
glitch beats I've heard (I don't like their live instrument
stuff much) and I just saw this video mentioning they use
ableton live:
LAZY_TITLE

So maybe I'll sigh and try a new program again after the
bitter taste left in my mouth from both fruity loops,
renoise and melodyne, a shitty trio if there ever was one. I
went back to simplistic modplug after all of those.

version 2 sounds quite similar. Maybe the actual percussion
pattern is too linear and most of the hits are the same
basic sound

the end of 2 is better than the beginning/middle.

first thanks to freqy and jones for comments/listens!

now to w M w..

this is why i value your opinion so greatly, because you're
always so perceptive.
i was thinking the same thing that i should put more
different sounds and have more stuff in there, which is
exactly what im going to do.
laziness can sometimes catch up, but not this time.

thanks again mate, ill work more on it and see what happens

moebi release candidate 1

so here is one version where i tweaked it a lot more, i
tried to put in a lot more detail, and have some pauses and
stuff.

its pretty crazy now actually but i hope someone gets some
enjoyment from it, and w M w i hope you give some critique
on how its coming along :D

The 'idm' goo holding the bits together is all nice. Maybe
the repetitious kick drum is bothering me, just my opinion,
might be better removed. The best 'percussion' in the whole
track are few more techy more precisely measured sounds in
the brief pause almost at the end. Might be better to
compose the whole thing from such units instead of drummy
sounds. Or it might be better if the whole thing is
based on a more 'foot tapping' backbone (just a
better template off which to mutate.. the current template
when reduced to its basic backbone is kinda weak) And I
don't know music terminology that well but if it is
something like 4/4 time, this particular track backbone
pretty much has a percussion hit on every single bar
division like tat,tat,tat,tat,tat instead of
tat,-,-,-,tat,-,tat etc. The space might provide more room
for glitch tricks etc. Ignore this.

yeah thanks dude..

not going to ignore it at all.
but i think im going to keep moebi this way, maybe add some
more stuff though. but changing out all the sounds and stuff
could be the next project.

to get more techy sounds all through im gonna have to make a
library of it first, which is a bit bigger project, and i
like this track for what it is, so im going to make some
sounds and then see if i can put together a more tech track
next week. seems like a good idea..
