Firewire interface routing

can the outputs on this interface be used for
separate channels, and not just for a surround sound setup?

like different channels in ableton, used for each of the
different outputs? and can they each be used with stereo
individually? (1/4 TRS unbal. to RCA?)

what is your computer is it lapy topy or towerey thingy?

yeh it will route individual channels to outs it says it
does in the description, if it can route individual to
surround outs ..then for subs bus or aux whatever then yeh .
if you have the right software.

get an emu if you can.

im just an old lady about to get my pension from the post
office pay no attention to me....except the emu thing.

Sure they can. I have Saffire LE version (no bulit in DSP
but 4 line ins instead of 2 - so get LE if you are into ins)
it`s worth recomending. 2.5 ms latency in traktor on g4 1.5
ghz powerbook with no glitches. Also you can route 5.1 sound
via coaxial out.

they only have a pcmcia version for a lapy at the moment. if
your lapy has an pcmcia card slot then you could buy just
the little card and then later purchase the breakout box

people dont want the pcmcia these days as not every lapy
supports it, so they appear on ebay a fair bit worth
checking the 1616m it has the same input converters as
protools...internal routing/patching built in fx and very
portable "you dont need to take the breakout box on a train
for example...just the little card. and headphones" (dont
buy the usb 0404 version) usb sucks

emu doesnt come as firewire ...next versions will im sure.

the little card is just over 100 quid and has all the
patching and dsp fx with headphone out..then you connect
the breakout box to that for multi ins and outs.

i got mine off ebay worth checking periodically for anyone
wanting a great soundcard cheapo.
