Returning a laptop

Anyone here know the turn around on laptop repairs ?
My new laptop (almost 3 months now) speakers are making this
really loud buzzing sound. Ideally I would like them to go
out back and just give me another of the same model, but I
have the feeling they will take mine for about 2 months and
perhaps give me a refurbished laptop as a loaner.

I called Toshiba and I got some uninterested early 20's girl
who just did not give a shit and was rude with me the whole
time. "Sir keep turning the volume knob on the laptop" "It's
not stopping" "IT WILL SIR KEEP TURNING IT" (it doesn't stop
turning BTW, it's one of those crappy on board realtek
software sound cards).

Any advice or stories related to this ?

Future shop is a Canadian appliance franchise here in
Canada.

not the onboard speakers? just your output? or both?

how bout headphone out? does everything have digital
distortion even when you have the level in your media player
very low?

down load the latest drivers for your card reinstall

get a new soundcard ? emu will make you happy. i got a
laptop pcmia card its very good indeed lets you do internal
routing/patching between any sound prog. yum yum. cheap
too.
bout 100 quid

sounds like you blew the speakers, no biggie.

no advice how to get em fixed tho, that kind of stuff is
certainly not going to be under warranty.

but as freqy said, if it persists beyond the laptop
speakers, could just be youre clipping somewhere on the
windows mixer.

my realtek soundchip also make all sorts of noises (constant
buzz and crackling when I move the mouse) also it has very
little bass and dirty resonant very annoying high tones. My
old soundblaster 64 sounds much better. I'd say Realtek
quality is very low...

2-3 weeks they say. FUCKERS.
For the record technology and I do not get along.

They tried to up sell me on their little warranty. "If you
had the warranty we would give you a replacement computer
until it's fixed.".

So you don't even get a new computer ? It's like $200 for
that extended warranty. Anyway, I give up. I'm bring the
thing back tonight.

It's the speakers they are making this super loud buzzing
sound.

They have been broken since the 15th day of owning the
thing.

warranties are essential when buying a computer, especially
a laptop.

they will, without fail, save you a boat load of money,
because all laptops get fucked at some point, and at that
point youll be wishing you had spent the extra $200 on the
warranty as opposed to the $600 you spent on getting it
repaired.
