The so called math rock genre is gradually turning into a parody imo. Bands try to outdo eachother by coming up with more and more ridiculous and 'complex' time signatures, no matter how shit it sounds. It has become a wanking competition. No one today can rival the old school math rock by bands like Slint and Shellac imo. |
