i've heard this discussed a few times, does any of you
think this idea is worth furthering?

I think it's worth looking into the possibilities, like
using a separate processor made to give a specfic sound so
you can have something different besides what every standard
processor nowadays has? basically your own synthesized synth
utilized out of a specially designed processor? i don't know
i'm not really educated in that area. I'm guessing that gets
into lots of math and coding and science?

discuss this if you will

That's basically what goes on in Nord and Access VA synths -
code running on chips optimized for the job. That's also how
the TC powercore equipment works.

I recall reading there was an open source project to run DSP
algorithms on common video card chips that have particular
optimized instruction sets but I don't know if anything ever
came of it.
