yep, i've done plenty of construction. it was my first job
and it seems like i always come back to it. pays better
than the other stuff, i guess. sucks when you're the lowest
on the totem pole and your jobs are like, move this stack of
lumber, dig this trench, etc. it's pretty satisfying once
you get to actually do some building, though. it can be
nice to work outside. it can also be wet and cold and
miserable or just really fucking hot.

I worked for a moving company, a fridge/appliance delivery
company, graveyard shift factory work, electrician, roofing.
my job life has sucked and my back is already fucked. I've
had to quit all the these jobs from anxiety, anxiety about
the fact that I'm doing these jobs.

i spent three summers starting when i was 14 doing
landscaping, clean-outs and moving shit.

the majority of our work was clean-outs, which meant going
to houses which had been condemned or something, and carry
barrels and barrels full of trash in and out to a dumpster
or the rack body truck.

it was shit work, the kind of living some people deal with -
one place had cat shit everywhere along with a bunch of kids
toys. there was even a closet with the feces smeared all of
the inside, so im guessing those fucks of parents would just
lock the kid in there.

another time i had to clean out a house which was literally
shin deep in trash, including somewhere around 50 assorted
cans of tomato paste in varying states of openness and
rotting. i havent been able to deal with tomato pasta ever
since that - the smell makes me gag.

that reminds me of when i was doing electrical in old attics
and houses that must have had aspestus or some other old
chemical. what a shit line of work, having to be around
rotting shit. with that kind of work, the employer (and even
employees) just dont give a shit about what their breathing
in.

i worked in the cold and rain, and in a heat wave, doing
block paving...

breaking concrete with a jackhammer, digging holes with a
spade and wheeling a wheelbarrow full of earth and concrete
up a ramp, to the top of a pile of earth and concrete.

i smoked skunk during my lunch hour too.
