besides drugs and all that, because recently i've been feeling that i have become incredibly tightly wound, to the point where i may explode. basically there's an awful lot of repression going on here, and no matter how much i get fucked up with booze and drugs, there is no respite. obviously i know escapism isn't the key to the release of repressed emotions, but deep down, all i really want to do is smash something right the fuck up. you know like get a chair and smash it into the ground then like fucking drive a car into a greenhouse. some shit like that. please help

i live in the countryside. i have nature all around me. it's pissing it down constantly and everything looks ugly right now. i have no patience for creativity right now either. i've been in this place a million times before and i know i'm just attention seeking. fucking predictable thought patters. it feels like a trap. all the live long fucking day.

If I finish a track, there's a sort of catharsis-effect that's pretty relieving.
Other things you could try.. you say you live in the countryside and that you have nature all around, and that you thus have become "tired" of that as well, but maybe you should just try some new nature? Or perhaps you need older nature? Is where you're living now the place you grew up in? If it isn't, maybe you should visit where you grew up? If you don't live with your parents, and if your parents live where you grew up, I find that a visit to them can be very relaxing.

yeah, kick yourself up the arse and go to university. maybe you need the stimulation of meeting new people, change of scenery.
I thought I was depressed once, went to the doctor, he said your not depressed, you're un-self satisfied. I thought he was talking shit, but looking back he was completely right. Never got into drugs, not my style, but spent too much time sitting in pubs for hours drinking neat vodka and smoking marlboros - I was just bored, bored, bored.
In the end I went out and got myself a life instead of sitting on my arse and feeling sorry for myself. Mind you, this was 15 years ago - never really felt like that since.

The problem with sexuality is the lack of education and acceptance. Gays for example are deliberately made to feel small - you see it on this forum all the time, the way the word "gay" is constantly used in a derogatory fashion.
When people don't feel confident about themselves they try to drag others down with them. No wonder gays have stupid events like "gay day" etc., to try and stamp their validity on culture. If people just left them alone or accepted them in the first place they wouldn't bother.
I noticed on TV that comedians have started picking on transexuals as a target for their cheap jibes. That's even worse, these people are in complete turmoil about their sexual identity. If society didn't make a big joke of it and just accept them as nature expressing itself then maybe their parents would accept them as well. Society remains utterly rotten to the core.

yes nature is like a huge variation with tons of other variations, the world could be so much more peaceful if PEOPLE recognized whats important, not about trying to raise consciousness of an issue that makes almost everyone uncomfortable just to get an assured laugh, because thats what gets most laughs is the nervous energy. and you can tell when some gay people talk with that girly voice, that its not a real genetic trait, i mean neither is a manly burly voice, but its like saying "HI! Im gay, wanna join?" maybe thats too harsh, but i mean cmon, everyone gots alittle bitta wierdness in em.

I mean think about it, the stinking hypocrisy of culture. 10% are gay, so surely another 10% are bisexual, and then there's surely another 20% who fantasise about it, maybe tried it once. Then there's all those hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of people into orgies, paedophilia, animals, shit eating, bondage, s&m, pissing, transexuals... I could go on. Look at the zillions of websites and magazines, it's only supply and demand.
You would have to assume that at least 70% of the human race is up to something that society deems inappropriate. The stench of hypocrisy is beyond our wildest imagination.

everything earth/human related revolves around sex. if you ask me, we need to get over ourselves as people in this world and start living beyond. something to take our minds to new places that just doesnt revolve around sex.
not drugs, i dont think death, possibly some cosmic-outer space related thing

Mind and body is indivisable. Sexual reproduction is a demand of the body when it is fertile, and a product of the mind the rest of the time. Human consciousness has enabled you to override your body and use sex as a pleasure movement, any time, any place - this is the mirage. As far as the body is concerned, your perversions are irrelevant, it is only interested in reproduction.

well, what freud calls the 'death instinct' could be a contributing factor to the perversions. after all, its intent is to return to its place of peace (the silence of nothingness. the finality of death), and what better way to influence that desire than to sabotage the reproduction game. on the other hand you could argue that perversions are a catalyst to the collective desire to reproduce by becoming something that people fear and thus make it their opinion that straight sex reproduction is for the best. or alternatively you could just say it's madness. that mankind has evolved too quickly for its own good.

i dont know about evolved, i'd go with the more biblical term "falling away" i think animals who are more physiologically under-developed than humans are more "in touch" with whatever you want to call this existence, god, or life, or spirituality.
but like hawking said, we are a form of monkeys that are able to understand and interpret the universe which in itself is at least amazing.

Mankind has hardly evolved intellectually at all. It has used its innate intelligence to create marvelous things through trial and error. All the technology around you was created that way. But behaviourally it has not used that intelligence to the same effect - there is a yawning chasm between how human intelligence has been applied. Intellectually we are completely primitive.
