Reading that title I thought this was going to be one of those surreal nonsense threads you only find on Zilty, where cygnus was claiming to be the original ending of the 1985 Tom Cruise movie Legend.
Bummer.

Now, this is a story all about how My life got flipped-turned upside down And I liked to take a minute Just sit right there I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air
In west Philadelphia born and raised On the playground was where I spent most of my days Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool And all shootin some b-ball outside of the school When a couple of guys Who were up to no good Startin making trouble in my neighborhood I got in one little fight and my mom got scared She said 'You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air'
I begged and pleaded with her day after day But she packed my suite case and send me on my way She gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket. I put my walkman on and said, 'I might as well kick it'.
First class, yo this is bad Drinking orange juice out of a champagne glass. Is this what the people of Bel-Air Living like? Hmmmmm this might be alright.
But wait I hear there're prissy, wine all that Is Bel-Air the type of place they send this cool cat? I don't think sow I'll see when I get there I hope they're prepared for the prince of Bel-Air
Well, the plane landed and when I came out There was a dude who looked like a cop standing there with my name out
I ain't trying to get arrested I just got here I sprang with the quickness like lightening, disappeared
I whistled for a cab and when it came near The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror If anything I can say this cab is rare But I thought 'Now forget it' - 'Yo homes to Bel Air'
I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8 And I yelled to the cabbie 'Yo homes smell ya later' I looked at my kingdom I was finally there To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air

Eh, I wasn't happy with the storytelling in general from that movie and just tacking on a new ending doesn't change much. The meaning behind the title as it relates to Big Willie Style isn't really explored either way. I'm neutral to both of them. Still liked the movie OK, the first halves of these last-living-dude movies are always fun.

id agree that the first half is always better - i am legend was way more interesting before that chick and her daughter appeared.
altho i did love the scene where he quotes along with shrek, considering i could and do do that (doo-doo tehehe) with any number of movies.

oh and also, one more thing about the film: i often heard people complaining that it was unrealistic that the vampire-whatevers made that the trap that left will smith hanging, but i had always assumed it was just a trap which he had made and forgotten was there or something. what did y'all think about that one?

I believe that's how it happens in the book but that's not how I interpreted it in this movie. He was very surprised that the dummywhatshisname was at that location, hard to believe he'd forget about his trap in that situation, in that odd location. And the trap didn't seem like his other one, which was set up so that he could easily get the sucker trapped, covered up from the sun, and down easily.
I hate the ''vampires'' in this movie. Anthony Zerbe would scoff.

A much better ending. I read the book years ago but I don't remember much. The movie got stupid when the woman and kid came, it ruined the element of isolation, which is what drove the film.

but the figures were popping up all over the place werent they? not just that one. i thought it was an interesting look into the madness and sense of cabin fever one could get even in a huge expansive environment like that.
forgive me if ive got some details wrong, i only saw it once in the theaters, and i was stoned to boot.

Well, there was a method to his madness, he set the mannequins up himself for comfort and routine, the way he wanted them. Their locations and roles were familiar to him. He was surprised because this was one of the mannequins he had set up at the entrance to the video store to ''greet him''. He didn't belong there.
