Hi..

everynow and then a radio show broadcasts some great
artists.. (ahem... Ae on BBC recently)...

Can anyone recommend a good / easy way to record those
transmissions in good quality (would rather not plug output
lead into mic socket!! ;)

BBC has its own player and is a mare.

My audigy platinum soundcard on my pc allowed me to record
"what i hear" which was great, my focusrite saphire
soundcard for my laptop does not give me this option
