in this song?

He's talking about the ancient Mayans and how he nicked
equations from them (they were great a maths, like the
Austrians) to make Max/msp patches.

It's the monomachine vocoder.

Speech synthesizer, not vocoder.

I know Ae use the Monomachine "VO" machine a lot to make
weird "ooeeearrreeeoeoeooeeeiiiii" drones and stuff, it's
all over the Bloc Weekend set.

He starts off saying "what about these pretzels, glick!" a
few times and then later he says "these cro-magnon pretzels,
these cro-magnon matching sheep". I haven't figured out the
rest.

i dont think that voice stuff is being done with the speech
synthesizer on the monomachine

some of it is definitely the vo synth on the monomachine.
But maybe there is some other stuff I don't know. If you
care to take the time to do it, you can make words on it if
you want.

i know i mean its possible some of that is overlayed on IO
however the voice is clearly a real sample for the most part
being manipulated by effects. is just not possible to make a
voice sound that clear where you can hear it saying 'pay
attention' using the vowel and consonant placement on the
monomachine.

hmmm, I assume you mean the pay attention around 1:47 or so?
Yea, a little might sound sampled, but I would be really
surprised if that bit in the beginning isn't the vo synth.
