they are personally significant. the signal is meaningless until you interpret it. so called hallucinogens can amplify elements of your personal experience that ordinarily operate outside of your awareness. in reacting to the stimulus you define it. this is similar to the way that incoherent dreams can actually reveal deep seated beliefs or feelings.
i was just meditating on pareidolia this morning on my way to work. unfortunately i didn't take a picture of the truck with the "face" on the back of it.
i've got a good one here but i can't post pics. :(
