why shouldn't that be posted (given that so little of xlt is about music these days)? at first glance it seems extremely tasteless and disrespectful. after that the depth of the work emerges. the photo seems to be an image of human beings refusing to disavow their humanity. i don't see anything funny about it, though. |

i don't know about these modern contempory artists, somtimes i wonder why this type of work is considered a great achievment. i don't give them much artistic merit really. The best art comes from centuries ago, when people put real effort and time into their work. i went to the 'tate modern' art gallery in London with a friend a few weeks ago, and i felt sick by the time i left. I think the work was too random, and it meant nothing to me. maybe art is not meant to be enjoyed. i suppose art is just a form of expression to help you understand a concept which can't be explained with normal language. but when i walked around the tate modern, i didn't feel the art had spoken to me or triggered any ideas in my head. (a few exception here and there, but it was all garbage for the most part) |
