Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La Band's latest album just leaked, and .. it's a grower. HOWEVER, the last tune "Blindblindblind" is instantly one of the best songs I've ever heard. The rest is quite good as well, although I'm not sure about "Black Waters Blowed" just yet. It's very rough and odd. They've gotten more aggressive and noisy, but the main 'vein' of their sound is still intact. So, right now it's a prospect for an excellent album, I just need a bit more time with it. Same as with their previous stuff, I guess. Blindblindblind though. Fuck me, that tune is enormous from the get-go. Both figuratively and literally. |

AGREED. Good call on all accounts. Very nice album. Not sure the aggressiveness will be here to stay, perhaps its more of a conceptual gesture. I'm not sure, but I think it tends to work ok enough. |
