Good film. It is not nearly as high a caliber as the first
Godfather or the first Apocalypse Now though.

Certain parts weakened the characters.

wiki ->
As of September 2007, Francis Ford Coppola will produce a
remake of this movie with Paramount Pictures. The script
will be written by screenwriter Stuart Beattie. This new
version is set for release in 2009, incorporating post-9/11
paranoia instead of personal demons. Mikael Hofstrom will
direct the remake.

I had to check and see if this was referring to the movie or
the Cabaret Voltaire album.

it's weird that francis ford coppola is behind it.
i thought remakes was just business men forking in some easy
cash..

classic film. really uncomfortable.

suck about the remake though, im sure it will be awful.

at least fear and paranoia of our post-9/11 gov't have
become commonplace and accepted in american pop culture
now.

then again, maybe if they keep it in pop culture it will all
seem like fantasy...

The original was made back when you needed an attention span
to watch films.

Hm, there are still plenty of films requiring attention
spans, they've just mainly slipped back out of the main
stream.

Remakes can be good and are not always about money.
