Ex-Friend: Very good overall, beats are not very pleasant tho, you should stick to TR808 drum sounds would fit like a glove in this track, I also didn't like the delay/diffuse on the drums.
Yellow Foam: Sounds like generic IDM but the drums sound better although I don't really like that style of programming.

I think you're on the right track with Ex-Friend, some musicians like to have a theme for all the music they made, it worked for Drexciya it worked for Legowelt and it could potentially work for you too, it will stop your music from sounding generic because you have a point and a direction to follow (in theory that is).

yellow foam: don't like nearly as much. Its busy in a way I don't like and not really catchy i guess
