I need some links to some graphics sites. Like blogs etc.
Flash design, font design. everything

Is there a program that you can use to design worlds like
the minipops but more centered on cityscapes and rural
terrain?

graphic design is the whore sellout branch of art (which is
pretty gay itself), concerned with brainworms like starbucks
logos and selecting typfaces that someone else created.

I'm a graphic designer and it does feel like i'm selling my
soul when i have to design... afterall graphic design is
mostly needs to fit commercial needs, its very rare i get
complete creative freedom.

you can do basicly what you want if you are good enough tho.
you have to set the standard, otherwise its just
replication.

your kind of right, but it depends on the kind of job you
have... clients seem to have some magical ability to pick
the worst design out of a selection of finished artwork

ofcourse, and why would you present the best designs you can
make to a client that wouldnt understand them?
standardisation is a way of making it in the graphics bizz
if you really don't give a fuck about clients. i mean, why
give them the best if they dont deserve it?

personally i like to mix it up a bit, sometimes i do a real
effort and get turned down and then send in some rubbish
which blows their minds. just do minimalism. do never make
clients your primary unless you can have as much creative
freedom as you want.

Hence the term commercial artist, that's what a commission
is afteral, get paid to do the work.

if there is a design you don't want them to pick, don't show
them that one. only show work you are happy with and can
stand behind. some clients are really good though, i do
stuff for bmw and they pick the best one everytime...i know
they are the minority, but they are out there.
