Valve Software has just made the music to the critically
acclaimed Orange Box available online. I thought each song
in the Orange Box was very well done for the specific game
it was composed for. I'll be picking this one up, as I
really enjoyed the atmospheric soundtrack to Portal. At $10,
I consider it a good buy. Anyway, I remembered the Orange
box being discussed here a while back, so I thought I'd post
this in case anyone's interested.

I too am a fan of the Portal musics. Thanks for the heads
up!

going to have to put this on hold for a week or two, spent
all my money on other crap. I'm still definitely getting it,
though I'm actually kinda pissed I didn't buy it when I had
the chance (and money) but I spent $40 on other records this
month so I'm kinda tapped out.

that's a bold statement, but as I can't thing of a better
one, I'll tend to agree with you on that.

Pretty much. I felt like I robbed Gabe Newell of a dozen
cupcakes when I bought my copy.

why don't you just extract the music files from the game
cache?

Well, I thought about it, but steam's file folders are all
pretty encrypted. Theres not just a folder called "orange
box music," as far as I know. I've installed a lot of mods
for various games that I own within Steam, and usually its
only the mod files that you'll see once they're installed...
everything else is like 'asdasdg34312.ocx' files. Is there
some way I can get the mp3/wav files for the game music from
those folders?
