i've smoked since i was 13:( i havn't smoked that much the
last 2 years tho, because i mainly use "snus" these days.
snus is tobacco that you put under your lip. unlike chewing
tobacco, you don't chew it, and if you would, your face
would turn green. but really, it makes you feel a lot
healthier...not having to wake up with that taste of death
in your mouth every morning.

I don't smoke... and I never will... I personally don't see
the point in picking up a habit that's just gonna slowly
kill me... but that's just me...

offline Ubik from United States on 2002-03-23 08:09 [#00137404]

no... not all smokers are white trash, but most white trash,
along with people like Reflex, smoke.... Walmart shoppers
are heavy smokers... Nascar racing fans tend to be heavy
smokers... guys with mullets usually smoke cigs... most
people with severe emotional discorders smoke nonstop (like
you know who who started this thread), i've got a cousin who
is unemoployable because she cant handle anthing, who smokes
non-stop, she cant go five minutes without freaking out,
even if she takes her Lithium and her other meds...lazy
people who like to hang around and do nothing smoke because
it gives them excuse to do nothing....

Ubik: you have some sort of really lame problem with me and
or smokers. I mean seriously. Just take your negative
opinions and put them somewhere else. You dont know me, or
know who iam at all as a person. Only this funny picture of
me that I took as a joke to a fellow ex co-worker and my
words. What you said was extreemly stupid and quite, quite
general.

are know this is stereotyping, but generally they are true,
on the average. just as i would assume that most Aphex fans
do not wear mullets, have bushy country mustaches, wear Dale
Earnhardt apparel everyday and stick that number 3 on the
back of their amercian car company autos, and buy their
music from Walmart... stereotypes, always an exception i
guess...

Ceri JC: wellyeah, right on man. it's like if you are going
to judge someone's behavior you judge their actions, to find
the true essence of someone .. it is all in the words.

i just like annoying smokers... its a habit for you, you can
do by yourself or with your friends if you want, but why do
you have to build it up to being a lifestyle? what if
somebody else said that they had to take five minutes a day
to stand around, do nothing, and fart around you. would you
think that was cool?

i just never understand...the "lower" demographics of whites
in the usa, and people who love to stand around and talk
about themselves, the higher the incidence of smoking, and
the quanity of smoking incidences. why, everywhere i go on
my job, the people who talk with country flavored accents
and style, the guys with the outdated mustaches and the
girls with the outdated hairdos almost always smoke cigs,
and feel the need to smoke every ten minutes... and then
whine about how they have the unquestioned right to smoke on
a regular timetable instead of doing what they are suppossed
to be doing... why?...

what are the demographic influences that cause groups of
people to talk a certain way, dress and behave a certain
way?... i mean we live in a culture in which everybody sees
the same basic choices of movies, televison, internet,
radio, usa today, shopping malls... but still you have huge
differences in demographics between groups in the same
communities! hell, a lot of individuals in Asia have better
english as a second language, than people who have lived in
Ohio their whole lives...

I tend to agree
and stereotypes exist for a reason;

Japanes tourists DO take more pictures than anyone else,

The Chinese tend to gamble a lot,

British people do tend to drink tea.

These aren't racist comments, they're true. It seems a sad
case that any example of Zeitgeist used nowadays is
classified as racism.

offline leftrightronic on 2002-03-23 10:20 [#00137451]
Points: 563 Status: Lurker

Yes I will to admit, some stereotypes just don't die.. there
are a few that aren't 100% true, but for the most part,
generally are:

Most pizza delivery people are high school/college students

Most indians you see work at the gas station and/or shell

Most mexicans (possible immigrants) are hard workers and are
frequently seen doing yard work/mowing lawn

And whatever Ceri JC said about "Zeitgeist", yup that's also
true indeed.

oops i also meant to say the indians you see work at gas
station/subway - everywhere i go :/

We don't have bears anymore, they were hunted to extinction
if they ever were here :(

If you mean Beer, yes we do have a drink problem among the
youth. Not particularly the drink -although more young women
die of liver diseases than breast and cervical cancer
combined here- but the way people behave when they're drunk.
In other countries it seems to be hip to look sober even
when you're mashed. Here getting out of your skull and being
a twat every friday and saturday night is common for most of
the population.

I prefer straight spirits to Beer. I hate it when people say
it's a "girly" drink to have a double iced vodka w/o ice.
It's an absolute killer. I wish our country was more like
poland and drank vodka with meals like most countries drink
wine.

I really like the taste of straight vodka and don't just
drink it to get drunk.

I'm also partial to the odd vodka martini and cocktails in
general.

The only "pint" I reallt like is Guinness. Easy to drink and
it tastes really nice provided it's pulled properly.

i like most bear and vodka but why mix it with coke? also
all these alco pops say they have vodka in but it's actually
pure alcohol, cheeper and who would notice the difference.
tennents lager or a nice bitter or ale for me

i'd hate to experience my family drinking vodka instead of
wine, unfortunately vodka tends to give people aggresive
tendancies

I only find that with Stella...

I get far happier getting drunk on vodka rather than on
pints. I also have no hangover and don't put on weight from
drinking as I tend to stick to spirits he he!
