Or so it seems.

We really should just all get together and talk about IDM
and forgo the ellectronix.

Maybe maybe not.

No, not that I know of. Don't come to Van for IDM. Stay
where you are in Europe ... or fly to Europe. Just as we
have a lack of decent anime here in Van, so we have a lack
of decent music besides the lame BSB, N'sink [to your death]
bands.

"Don't Come To Van For IDM"
that's a good song title....can i use that for my new track?

nanotech: there are two radio stations here in Edmonton that
play... well... play strange music like Boc and AFX are
heard on there often. Lots of stuff.

There is a classy night club.. relaxed one, no dancing or
anything that plays lots of the more jazzier good stuff.. ..
even luke vibert or amon tobin.

LOL @ Phresch...go ahead man. Maybe our Mayor will soon
understand our problem and resolve it buy developing a Warp
Records Canada division. DO IT DO IT DO IT!!

Or subsidize artists for making microsound. Altho judging by
how the Mr Campell seems to be divying up the cash, that
doesn't seem very likely.

Lets turn those Fast Cats into bridges. That would be
sweet. And when you drive though you can hear Tri Rep ++
playing...looping.

Fast Cats?

Tri Rep ++ Looping?

I know not of what you say.

I think tho, that it would be a really good idea, to hijack
the speakers for the skytrain line and play Tak 2 by plaid
on repeat.

You don't know the Fast Cat ferries that Glen Clark screwed
up and cost us our right arms? Those things.

offline Amonbrune from Vancouver (Canada) on 2002-03-23 19:05 [#00137799]

Fast ferries. I kinda thought you were talkin bout those,
but wasn't sure (never heard of them being called fast
cats).

I know of tri repete. Just thought it sounded generally
better that I didn't understand what you were saying at all
:P

and the rest of europe out number you as it goes in the
world of idm. Why is everything with you guys always a comp?

Because we have nothing better to do than to sit around and
critisize everything. Thats why everyone thinks we're so
polite.

mmmm....Doug Coupland...

I'd be a Coupland stalker if I lived in Van...He's one of my
fave authors/artists...

His next book is only coming out on Japanese Mobile Phone
format...how fucked is that?
