Yep, that's really phobiazero- he always communicates in
bold. Do you have any preferences? I could make some sort of
complex geometric gif pattern but I'd have to use the gimp
instead of flash so I don't stab my computer.

aw fuck, they FUCKED up the gimp. Now the selection tool is
seperate from the move tool WTF. It took me a half hour of
google searching to even figure that out. Now you have to
select the move tool, and even then it moves the entire
LAYER. So you have to select to move the selection instead,
and go back to the select tool and try to select something
without bizarre rectangle scaling bullshit getting in your
way, go back and select the move tool, move the stupid crap,
and it still doesn't work. It just moves the selection box.
Man, really man, fuck this shit, FUCK IT STRAIGHT TO HELL.
FUCKING FUCK!!!!!Q

is not even to avatar scale for bonus points.

Which is the good one? I found v2.2. I guess I'll give
that a try.

offline w M w from London (United Kingdom) on 2007-12-09 14:17 [#02152578]
Points: 21443 Status: Regular

i liked 2.2.13, which initially pissed me off because some
tool area dedocked from the rest and was not redockable.
However it ended up good because I just dragged the tool
window really wide horizontally andn put it on the very
bottom, then made the bottom of the drawing window right
above it (so selecting from one to the other doesn't put any
window behind the other.
But for the love of god, ALWAYS create a new transparent
layer right over the top of the white background
immediately. Not doing that has wasted lots and lots of my
time before, as if you don't, selecting stuff will also
select the white of the background (so its rather
unmovable/alterable) and you pretty much have to start all
over. I have photoshop but still downloaded the gimp, just
to show how shit that other can of worms is.

photoshop is like, lets have a million and a half options
where all the defaults are the wrong ones. And right there
in the main drop down boxes we'll put all the useless little
crap options that slow you down by constantly distracting
you from what you're searching for. And to edit something
there are like 5 different sneaky backdoor ways to do it,
enough to make you forget how you even did it last time, but
no front door. As for the main options you care about (such
as, hmm, when you draw a single black line it doesn't affect
random neighboring pixels by making them random shades of
grey... even googling how to solve this is tricky. Is it
'anti aliasing' (wtf), is it some sort of 'crispyness ratio'
of the line option or opacity.. or maybe I'm in special
fucked up locked layer practice 8 bit mode. Oh oh, I solved
a problem. The solution was to hold down alt PLUS control
PLUS 'z' PLUS 'y' then drag, why didn't I think of that??
Oops they forgot to mention that particular shotcut anywhere
(shortcut assumes there is a normal non short cut) Its a
program you know, where supposedly annoying details should
be locked away in code objects you don't have to worry
about, let the program deal with all the bullshnizit on a
lower level instead of ass-ifying it right in my face.

Pen tool, make path, stroke from path set paintbrush or
pencil size and press OK. You've just made an line.

If you want to make a square just use rectangular marquee
tool, set constrained aspect ratio or hold shift while still
holding the lmb, press rmb and stroke option from the menu,
set width and color and OK.
