it should be fucking compulsory.

even just learning about what you see and how it's composed
based on varying factors etc

i think it's so important for people to know about this
stuff. why was none of this mentioned in my school days?

If you can't be assessed on a subject or tested in some way,
there is clearly no point whatsoever in teaching it.

They teach things at school? I always thought it was a
holding prison to keep youth from interfering with the
system.

Welcome to earth. Let's begin your stay here in prison. Hmm,
how long should the sentence be, how about your entire
youth.. you know that period when you would have been at
your prime as a hunter gatherer before dying at the normal
age of 30.

I think they should teach you philosophy, ethics, critical
thinking, stuff like that. Mind you, we some of that in RE
and nobody paid any attention anyway.

You can read my paper on phenomenology, but you'll have to
learn Norwegian first.

perception & visual communication should be taught at
school, yes. visual literacy should have equal status with
'book' literacy.

ever experienced it? or just read some heidegger and some
