Amiga tracker music

I've just gotten an Amiga emulator, and it's fucking
awesome.
I had an idea, that i would try and create some music on it,
for fun. Anyone have any idea what tracker i should use?

The emulator emulates ALL kinds of Amiga, so i'm open for
all sugestions.

Protracker is an option, but i just have a feeling theres
something else out there.

Also, i'd like to open for the discussion, if there is
anything to gain from making music on the amiga, since it is
sample based (contrary to the C64 and nintendo, but it just
seems like everybody is doing that now!)

I personally love old Amiga soundtracks, but i just have
feeling that i love them because they are extremely well
composed, more than because of the sound of the damn thing.

Discuss and suggest!!!

I've tried various trackers and most of them suck complete
ass. Modplug tracker is really good/simple/intuitive/free
compared to them. I mean, get this, if you right click you
can copy and paste stuff. Good luck figuring out how to do
such a simple task, let alone any other, in ass tracker or
whatever its called if you can even make sense of what you
see because they use some black background that sucks. Oh
yeah and they forgot to code the arrow keys into the
program. I mean pressing up and down etc probably isn't
useful in navigating the pattern data so why bother?

I tried that ModPlug program, and it apparently can do more
than just modplug trackers? (it seems to be able to use
other tracker formats as well). The problem for me is the
inability to record polyphonically. I was messing around
playing this cool little chord progression thing on the
QWERTY keys (my midi keyboard stopped working), but I can
only record it one key at a time which sucks for a person
like me who writes melodies quickly and plays them quicker.
I can't really force myself to figure out how to record
something in monophony, it's just too painful/frustrating.

Listen to me because I love Turrican II soundtrack! :) But
it really is the best tracker on the Amiga even Legowelt
uses it on his Amiga 1200.

I always choose IT (impulse tracker) format when using
modplug. I never record melodies like that and just
tediously enter them. But you can record in multiple
channels if you want. Do this: shift-click on about 4 or so
channels (at the top), make sure 'follow song' box is
checked, then press F7 to play the current pattern or F6 to
play all patterns you have in a row. Now when you press 3
simultaneous keys it will record them all together as one
chord, etc.

protracker! and the non-intuitive interface is just
charming. when you get to know it you can do stuff more
easily then in any other sequencer. total control.

Turrican II rocks the shit, but i like Shadow of the beast
II even better!!! Been playing it again... This is probably
the most frustratingly hard game i've ever played. Even
after "Ten Pints"!!!
